Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water systems, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen projectiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes come after nights of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
