Alongside Paul M, he is alleged to have arranged instruction courses where radical left activists practised combat techniques and rehearsed attacks. At depots managed by the suspect, the network reportedly stockpiled hammers, pepper spray, disguises and mobile phones.

Previous convictions and global responses

Another militant previously active with the organization, Lina E., became a cause celebre within certain radical left communities following her 2023 guilty verdict for targeting presumed far-right targets.

America's terrorist listing renders organization affiliates ineligible to enter the United States, freezes any assets they may have within the world’s largest economy and criminalizes offering assistance to them.

Germany's far-right AfD party welcomed the American move and called on the government in Berlin to follow suit. However, the country's diplomatic office merely commented it had “taken note” of the American classification.

“The danger from the organization has substantially diminished lately. The ringleaders and particularly violent members have received convictions or are in custody.”
